Food is spectacular. Definitely found a new hole in the wall. In a city full of options when it comes to real Mexican cuisine, this place stands above them. I had the pastor tacos and of course the Gordita with chicarron.... Aye ya ya ya... bueno!

The best gorditas around! You know it's good when it's consistently busy. Everything comes out good and hot.

I mean come on. Houston Texas let's go man. Day 3 of university of houston bball camp. Needed some grub. I was recommended a lot of places but nothing seemed worth it? Found this spot on Yelp and knew I had something special. I arrived around 6 ish on a Tuesday and was greeted in spanish (i know minimal Spanish lol) and was taken to the counter to order. It's like a diner setting where you sit at the counter in front of all the workers and it was fantastic My Spanish 3 knowledge carried me as I ordered 2 chicken tacos, 1 carne asada Gordita and a large limon Fresca. Ladies and gents. This was fantastic. The servers are all attentive and my order was taken so quickly. We placed the order and waited no more than 10 minutes for the food. The limon drink came out first and was as big as a big gulp. It was the best lemonade-esque drink I've ever had. My chicken tacos came with lettuce, tomato and i added green and orange salsa along with a lime. The taco was filled with juicy meat and the veggies added a nice crisp. The Gordita was sort of a quesadilla with carne asada. Circular smaller tortilla with cheese and carne asada and my goodness it was good. Juicy and crispy meet with runny cheese. If this is the best meal I eat in houston, I won't be disappointed even a little bit. Oh also. Look at menu prices . $2.20 for a taco and $4 for a Gordita is ridiculous. The drink was the most expensive thing I bought lol. I paid for my friend and I and it was $27 total. And considering I don't normally buy drinks, this could have been well under $10 a person if I played my cards right. Steal! 10/10

After trying multiple "best" listed in Yelp/Google and being very disappointed, we finally discovered this diamond. I strongly encourage everyone to try the food here. If you want to true "home meal" this is the place. First, the staff is super friendly and patient. The tacos, gorditas, and aguas were excellent. We tried a variety of meats and were all exceptional. The place is simple, with no frills and rustic, but the food shines. I hope you enjoy as much as my family did.
